Regional Transportation Plan

The Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) is 30 year federally required, multi-modal blueprint for the region’s transportation system including roadway, transit, and active transportation (pedestrian and bicycle) facilities. The plan is adopted every four years, and is designed to implement the region’s vision, Wasatch Choice Vision.

The RTP uses data that considers economic indicators, regional growth factors, and future land uses to anticipate and define mobility needs. It provides a phased approach to project implementation in a regionally significant and fiscally constrained way.

The RTP proactively addresses growth and transportation demands, which is critical to meet future mobility needs within our region. The plan’s federal process and fiscal constraints allow MAG and local governments to be eligible for state and federal funding sources for project implementation.
